On 19 November 2008, mayoralty of  Tigheci village has conducted Open Day. The event was designed to celebrate the success of the community in creating a team of sanitation in community. This initiative has brought them the Best Practice Status.

"First of all we have provided a systematic process of sanitation in the city, we created three places of employment, attracting sources from the Office Employment. So, three unemployed have received work, and our village has become cleaner", mentioned mayor of Tigheci Ion Para.

Those of Tigheci have shown that know how to mobilize funds Community. Thus, in creating the service and tackling the timely transportation of waste have been used more financial sources: the contribution of the mayoralty, tax planning, National Ecological Fund, economic agents. Moreover, citizens have provided voluntary work.

Event was held with supporting of Directorate of Democratic Institutions of the Council of Europe and the Royal Embassy of Norway in Roumania.
