For their contribution to the improvement of social conditions from the locality, the members of five groups of community initiative from the districts of Sangerei, Falesti and Rascani have been awarded diplomas of excellence from the part of USAID/IREX Citizen Participation Program (CPP), DECA-press transmits.
The event took place after these groups of initiatives finished the successful implementation of five social projects in their locality, for which USAID/IREX offered the necessary financial resources of one hundred thousand dollars.
„One of the groups of initiative which have received diplomas is Sangerei town. It constructed 500 metres of road from the edge of the locality. This one contributed to making this street more attractive for those who want to build houses here. Another group from the village of Navarnet, Falesti district managed to encourage the community to change the doors and windows of the kindergarten from the locality, thus providing decent condtions for children", Igor Mironiuc, CPP Balti coordinator, declared for DECA-press.
The same source also specified that the groups of initiative from the villages of Falestii Noi and Risipeni (Falesti district), as well as the village of Struzeni (Rascani district) managed to improve the conditions for pupils due to the financial support of IREX, after having replaced the doors and the windows of the buildings of the school from the locality.
Soon, CPP will award diplomas of merit ninety five groups of community initiatives for the production of social changes at a local level.
CPP supported over 185 community groups and NGOs from Moldova so far. The program is financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and administered by the International Research Exchange Board (IREX).
